THE CHAO CENTER is located in the Purdue Research Park, Indiana's first Certified Technology Park

The Chao Center is located in the Purdue Research Park, Indiana's first Certified Technology Park. In the past two years, the park has launched 23 technology startup companies. The more than 100 companies in the park employ more than 2,500 people. The park is located less than two miles from Purdue’s main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. It sits on more than 650 acres and offers excellent air, bus, rail and trucking accessibility. Its location in the center of the heartland provides convenient access to major cities such as Indianapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, and Cincinnati. It is within 24-hour truck or rail delivery to 80 of the top 100 U.S. markets.

The 11,000-ft2 non-sterile manufacturing facility for The Chao Center was completed in March 2005. This facility is comprised of seven spacious manufacturing suites situated along a clean corridor. Surrounding the manufacturing core is a viewing corridor. The viewing corridor allows non-cGMP personnel the opportunity to see on-going pharmaceutical manufacturing processes without compromising the integrity of the cGMP space.

A 6,500-ft2 formulation and analytical laboratory facility, directly adjacent to the manufacturing facility, was completed during the first quarter of 2005. Two large formulation laboratories and one large analytical laboratory will provide space for formulation development, analytical development, methods validation, and analytical support for the manufacturing facility. These facilities are also designed along a viewing corridor to accommodate visitors without actually entering the laboratories.
